Terrific Taxes and Tea Parties
I generally head home on my days off, but this week we only had two days so I stayed in VA. There isn't much to explore in our town so I had done some research and decided we would head to another waterfall. Unfortunately, the rain delayed that trip. We had to find something else to do -- and did we. The community college's gym/rec center is amazing here! I have never been to such a nice public gym. Besides the indoor running track, multiple cardio and weight machines, and the four court gymnasium, there is a rock climbing wall and olympic-size pool with a huge waterslide, plus a giant hot tub and a wading pool. There is even a mushroom for the kids. We headed there for an amusing day and were completely satisfied. We all climbed the walls which was fun. Tiffany is afraid of heights and even found the guts to make it to the top of a wall. Then we headed to the pool for some fun on the waterslide. Tiffy and I agreed that this rec center is another terrific use of tax dollars. All are benefited in a healthy way. Again, if our tax money went to great programs like this, citizens may not be so disgruntled. It was a great day, and by the time we left, we were exhausted.
Now it is back to work all week. Hopefully, we can catch the Chocolate Festival in Lewisburg this Saturday!
The other plan for the night was to make dinner. I love to make dinner. Marissa wanted to learn to cook dinner, and Tiffy enjoys eating the dinners. What a perfect trio. After an hour at Walmart, we returned to the house with bags full of groceries and immense appetites. A beer cheese fondue started out the night with an assortment of apple, bread, and veggie dippers. Then came Chicken Bryan , a copycat version of Carabba's. It's my favorite thing to eat, and the girls quickly saw why. And to top the night off, we had a white and dark chocolate fondue with fruit, cake, and marshmallow dippers. What a great girl's night! These two girls are great friends, and I will miss them come May.

The next night, Tiffy and I headed to the Barter Theatre to see Othello. It just so happened to be the TEA party day too. Ah, taxes once again. On our way to the theatre, we passed the Abingdon, VA, TEA party and decided to stop. (Thanks, mom, for informing me of the national news) We signed the petition, talked a bit with the people, and had our pic with this revolutionary. We made it to the show early and ended up thoroughly enjoying it. What a great theatre. By the time we arrived home, Tiff and I felt we had had a full day -- work, a tea party, and a show.
Now it is back to work all week. Hopefully, we can catch the Chocolate Festival in Lewisburg this Saturday!
