Food and Books -- Life's Best

I was reviewing my journal and noticed tons of little notes jotted in the margins -- information I didn't want to forget. Most of it is related to food or travel, but I thought I would pass it on, in case there are others who enjoy useless information as much as I. Here are a few I found.

1). If you are around Columbus, Ohio, Jeni's ice cream is a must. With flavors like Salty Caramel, Earl Grey, Thai Chili, and Black Coffee, how can you go wrong? It is a locally owned chain in Columbus that has some of the best flavors I've ever tasted. Check out their website http://www.jenisicecreams.com/

2). Bison Burgers! Those who don't live in a big city may appreciate this one. Ted's Montana Grill, owned by Ted Turner, are a chain of eco-friendly restaurants with made-from-scratch daily dishes. The Bison is great -- and healthy. Also, the restaurant is 99% plastic free -- even using paper straws. It's a must try.

3). If you are a cookie dough fan, Saul Good in Lexington, KY, has the best cookie dough dessert I've tried yet. It puts Cheddar's Cookie Monster to shame. It is a half-baked, huge chocolate chip cookie in a skillet, topped with ice cream and hot fudge. Chocolate covered popcorn and a chocolate pizza are other interesting desserts. Thanks, Kirsten and James for the recommendation.

4). As many of my friends know, I am not a huge fan of government programs.... But one program I fully support and feel is not a waste of my tax dollars is The Library. It has saved me money, provided me with boundless information, and assisted me in experiencing many travels I would have never known about without the help of an informative adventure/travel book. And at the library, all men are truly created equal. It does not discriminate against any race, gender, or economic status. It is for all. Aaahh, if all social programs could be like the library and empower instead of enable.

I absolutely love that you posted about food... wish I was near any of these places! I also love the comment of the library. If it's ok, I'm going to share that with a good friend of mine that's a Librarian. She'll love it.
