Rock Climbing

Ok. I must say this was the scariest day, for me, of our trip. We woke up early and called around to find a rock climbing guide. It was our day -- we only had two names and numbers, and one of the two was available. Meteora is not on the sea so it was very hot there, and we were going at 2:30. No problem, just take lots of water. Yeah right. If water had been my biggest concern I would have been happy. Our guide, Costas, picked us up, and we were off to a "beginner's course". When we saw the rock we came to our mouths dropped. This is not a beginner's course in America. This is a lawsuit. Anyway, we got all our gear on and headed up the course. Mind you, Tres is an excellent climber, but I have never done any wall/rock climbing in my life. I went first. It took me awhile to get to the first stop, but I made it with some good concentration. Shew! He called Tres "monkey boy" because he was so fast. Costas then climbed up to the next part and left us there because he had to hook us in to the next bolts. When it was my turn to do part two, we realized Tres and I's ropes were tangled. Talk about an anxiety attack. I was trying to hold on for dear life, but there was nothing to hold on to!!! The rocks were smooth. Poor Tres! We finally got it worked out, and I made it to the top with much prayer :) Tres, again, had no problems. He should take up this hobby. When we made it to the top, we felt so great about our accomplishment. The view was amazing. We also signed a book kept in a metal container of people that had done the climb. It was very cool. The descent down was somewhat scary too. Tres had to go first. Basically, you just held to the rope, jumped out, and bounced your way down. I couldn't believe he wasn't scared. I was really scared so I went just before our guide. It was a little comforting having someone a little close. We were exhausted after the trip but so glad we did it. We would definitely do it all over again. The pic of us kissing looks sweet but was minutes before my anxiety attack with the tangled ropes. haha. Also, the guy in the middle of us is the guide.
