Meteora

We headed for Meteora the next morning. It took as much time for us to do the three hour hike down as it did up. I suppose the morning sun weighed into that equation. Anyway, we traveled all day on buses and trains to get to Meteora -- next destination. We stayed at a great campsite there which was clean and filled with friendly Greeks. They loved us Americans and greeted us with free souveneirs and Ouzo -- the Greek equivalent to moonshine. We tried to politely refuse, but they would not accept. We tried to politely drink it but could't stomach it. Here is a pic of the view from the restaurant and some of the amazing mountains there. They look like something out of a science-fiction movie. Tres also fit in well with all the Greek guys by agreeing to cheer for the Hellas when America and Greece played the following day. We were excited about our next adventure -- rock climbing!
