Catching Up

So, I have been lagging in the blogger world. I decided to post some pics from mom and I's second trip to New York City. It started when I received a call for an audition to a show that had played off-Broadway. I was really excited so mom and I decided to embark on the journey Easter Day after the church cantata. The drive was long, but we made it to New Jersey by midnight. I had an early audition and got a callback for that evening so mom and I decided to spend the day on the Staton Island Ferry. We saw the Statue of Liberty and enjoyed the chilly ride. We also went back to a favorite bakery we found on our first trip and indulged in their tasty walnut bars. Yes, we stocked up! I headed back to the audition and ended up staying until 10:30 that night. That is usually a good sign. We then had to catch a subway back to the bus station and ended up running through the bus station to catch our bus. I'm sure it was comical to observers. We made it back to the hotel and then proceeded to drive until 3 in the morning to a hotel in Hershey, PA. We made the long drive for the specific reason of eating breakfast at the Hershey Pantry. We had eaten there many years before when I worked at Hershey Park, and it was so memorable that we thought the drive worth it. We were right. The breakfast was as good as we had remembered. The pancakes are the best ever! We enjoyed our breakfast thoroughly and had a great ride home. I got called later and did make the show. Because of a variety of reasons, I ended up not taking it, but the vote of confidence was nice and let me know that I may be able to go for my dream once my life is a little more healed and stable. My mom and I had a great time, and I'm so thankful to have such a great friend in her.
