Tres' Big Day

We celebrated Tres' 30th birthday in a pretty unusual way -- Athens, Greece. We got the day off to celebrate and took the metro into Athens. It was a blast, and we saw so much! We, of course, saw the Parthenon and Acropolis. It was amazing to think about all the history that had happened there. Our country is a baby compared to that. We met these great guys on the metro that were from the states and gave us some insider tips on getting around. We used some backstreets and hiked up this huge mountain which used to be the watchtower for the soldiers in Ancient Greece. We could see over all of Athens, even to our ship. Tres got stuck in a huge aloe vera plant that we thought would swallow him up and then had a little fun at the top playing Karate Kid. There was no one up there so we had it all to ourselves. Talk about a great day. A couple later came up and took our pic, check out the background -- the Acropolis! We saw alot more that I haven't posted pics of. We also sat on the rock where Paul gave his Acts 17 speech. It was so cool! Don't worry, Tres had his birthday treats -- ice cream and a triple-sized chocolate covered doughnut. Happy Birthday, Tres. I love you.
