Hocking Hills, Ohio

Yes, we are the small dots in the space between the rocks!
Aaahhh, nature!
I do love waterfalls.

David left for Saudi Arabia last week. He is teaching at a school there for two years, and judging from his emails, he is adjusting quite well. Before he left we decided to take a quick adventure trip, seeing that he wouldn't be able to hike much in Saudi. We decided to hike, zipline, and rockclimb in Hocking Hills, Ohio. Who knew there were mountains in Ohio? I must say we had an absolute blast; although, we were exhausted after the short two days. We started our trip with a 6 mile hike. It was short but gorgeous and had a few steep climbs. The waterfalls were small, but they added to the already beautiful scenery. We hiked until dark, literally. The next morning we headed out to do a little ziplining. It was a nice course and lots of fun. David claims he is afraid of heights, but I strongly disagree after that day. He loved it and ziplined like a pro - almost as well as my mom :)

Just hangin' out.

David on the long line.

David wasn't a huge fan of the bridge.

Ziplining was a great way to get our day started, but we needed a bit more of a challenge. After a Bob Evans lunch, we headed out for some rock climbing. This has to be one of the most frustrating yet rewarding sports out there. The day after I always feel muscles I didn't know I had. David had never climbed so he was a bit nervous. He was much better than I and loved the challenge. We also repelled which was fun. I don't think someone afraid of heights would repel , or at least wouldn't volunteer to go first :)

This route was almost impossible!

The repel route down. A funny way to climb up -- backwards.

It was a great trip, and I'm so glad we went. David, I hope you have a great time, make lots of friends, and travel as often as you can. You will be missed here in WV, and the next time I see you, I hope it's on Kilimanjaro!

*Thanks to my long-time critic, I need to note the grammatical error on the title of the last posting. The apostrophes are not needed. Thank you for noting something worth acknowledging.
